Bullock Guitar Pickups

Welcome to my blog. My name is Matt Bullock, and I make custom pickups and do pickup rewinds for guitars, basses, and any other instrument that can be amplified with electromagnetic pickups. I’m going to be using this blog to share some of my pickup building and winding experiences through pictures, videos, and sound clips.

Over the next few weeks I will be adding information about upgrading some common inexpensive pickups to inexpensively enhance the sound of some pretty common guitars imported into the United States including Violin (Beatle) Bass copies, Teisco/Kingston/Kay/Norma style 60′s and 70′s guitars, Chinese and Korean squires, and I will be rewinding and rebuilding a 70′s/early 80′s Dimarzio Super Distortion.

If you have questions about pickup winding, or are interested in having custom pickups made for you, or having some old pickups rewound, please feel free to contact me at bullockguitarpickups.com.

  2. Reworking a Dimarzio Super Distortion deserves its own distinction and notation being the ”BABY” that generated a generation of several 1sts! I remember reading mags considered as bibles one up and coming was Seymour Duncan winding for hire mostly Tele quarter pounders and at the helm of an industry was and the music in every genre was altered over night duely to the Super D. & Dual Sound half of a Super and a second tone similarly to a Firebird but this Company’s the Super changed music and enhanced the pickup industry to what S Duncan eventually became and the original Super is the most copied pickup not the PAF otherwise why would the Super even came to exist as a need and causing the the revolution of for and by,pure American ingenuity!
